Flush with the success of the Abissi, Slovenian micro brand Haldor is back with a new project, the Armis 2000m, a tough, Swiss made tool watch, now available for pre-order on IndieGoGo.
As you might have guessed, the Armis takes its diving credentials seriously. It features a unidirectional, 120 click bezel, a 7mm screw-down crown, BGW9 Swiss SuperLuminova, a 9 o’clock helium release valve, a Faraday cage to protect the movement from magnetic fields up to 4800 A/m, and yes, it is rated for 2000m/6660ft water resistance. The case is 42mm wide, 50mm long, and just shy of 15mm thick. made from 316L stainless steel, which is then coated with a 25 micron thick layer of steel, titanium, ceramic, and a nickel-copper alloy, for a surface hardness of1800Hv, or 7 times that of untreated stainless steel. They also offer a limited edition model with a DLC black coating instead of the HHC. Only 50 black versions will be produced.
Inside that fortress is an ETA 2824-2 Swiss automatic movement. Right out of the box, this 25 jewel, 28.8k bph unit is accurate within +/- 15 seconds per day. Haldor adjusts theirs to +4 seconds per day, putting it in COSC territory (albeit without COSC certification).
The Armis ships with both a 22mm HHC coated stainless steel link bracelet with a signed and bead blasted push-button diver’s extension clasp, and an Italian rubber strap with a pin buckle. Drilled lugs facilitate the swap.
Full retail for the Armis will be $900, but early bird specials can still be had for as low as $560. This price includes the watch, bracelet, strap, a pair of screwdrivers, a pair of spring bars, and international shipping.
